CLEVELAND, OH: At this year’s NA06 show at the IX Center, Komatsu Forklift U.S.A, Inc., displayed its new state-of-the-art model BBX50.
The BBX series of electric, counterbalanced, sit down forklifts has been redesigned to expand Komatsu’s electric forklift line to include lifting capacities of 4,000 to 6,500 lbs.
In a statement about the new BBX series forklift, Komatsu’s Senior National Sales Manager, Michael Luss said, “With the addition of new technologically advanced models in our Class I product line, Komatsu will gain greater customer acceptance and market share in the electric forklift market.”
This series features both AC drive and hydraulic motors (Total AC), aimed at reducing forklift maintenance costs and increasing customer productivity. The advancement from DC to AC motors has enabled Komatsu Forklift to increase energy efficiency and reduce the number of replacement parts.
Along with changes to the drive system, new operator compartment improvements have been implemented. Now, the operator has several programming controls including maximum lifting speed, travel speed, and regenerative braking.
These electric lifts fit a number of indoor applications including, but not limited to, virtually all manufacturing, food processing, warehousing, grocery, beverage, carpet, tiles, woodworking, modular building materials, plus numerous other applications.
